Kumu Ehulani Stephany

We are proud to have Kumu Hula Ehulani Stephany, Kahuna of Traditonal Hula and Ancient Chant, giving us Traditional Hawaiian Blessings at our Opening Ceremony. Kumu Ehulani has been teaching Hula for many years 18 throughout the Hawaiian Islands. Being born and raised in Hawaii she has been fortunate to train under fourteen different Kumu Hula's "Every kumu hula is different" she says with her smile, "and shares a wonderful knowledge of the Hawaiian hula, and chant. I am very proud of every one of my kumu hula and it is a blessing that I was able to take hula and chant fom them". Having learned various lineages and styles of hula and chants, Ehulani has developed her own style which truly is sent from the heavens.

Her Halau "Halau Hula Ka Makani Hali Ala O Puna" has been seen in media and video including in a CNN News special about the volcano Goddess Pele, Kilauea volcano, and the sacrednessof the Hula Kahiko (Ancient Hula). Her devotion to perpetuating traditional culture has also led her to work with a Japanaese film crew. The focus is to complete a feature length documentary on the nature and people of Hawaii. On her home island of Hawaii, Ehulani and her halau serve as the annual Royal Court Dancers for the Royal Court of Puuhonua O Honaunau, also known as the Place of Refuge every summer.

We are truly honored and blessed that Kumu Ehulani will be with us for our opening ceremony and also leading the Procession for our Hawaiian Style Games in honor of the Makahiki season. This truly is a time for a celebration of abundance. Join us here on this island of creation and rebirth.
