"MAKAHIKI" Makahiki is a celebration of life.
Often thought of as the Hawaiian New Year. Makahiki's timing and purpose is very similar to what we've come to know as Thanksgiving. During this time, all work and quarrelling cease. The stars signal a new season. It is now time to EAT, PLAY, and LOVE. We, your cuzins at Rainbow Raw Games are proud to invite you and your family to our open Makahiki. This will be aTraditional Makahiki Festival guided by kapuna (revered elders). Our KumuHula "Ehulani Stephany" and her Halau Hula Ka Makani Hali Ala O Puna (school) will open the day following ancient ritual by leading a procession honoring the God Lono. God of fertility and agriculture.
After the procession and traditional blessings offered by our Kahuna of Traditional Hula and Ancient Chant, our Makahiki will begin. This is a celebration of games, food, music, global community and prayer. Everything that Rainbow Raw Games is. These timeless games of balance, strength, and wit are enjoyed by all ages.
